Brothers eye new horizons
François and Vincent Leclair of Domaine de la Rochette (Touraine AOP) are starting to develop their export sales. For this push, they have designed new labels: one for the North American market, the other for South Korea. The former design is contemporary; the latter, classic and restrained. The labels adorn two of the estate’s signature brands: Fleur de Printemps, a range of Touraine red, white and rosé wines with a rounded, fruity profile; and Prestige du Vigneron, also in three colours but with a gutsier, fuller-bodied style. This rollout follows the acquisition of a pneumatic press, which lets the brothers make more vivacious, aromatic wines. The 46ha domaine aims eventually to export 25% of sales; the current proportion is 8%.
